About VTA
VTA Tamil School (Victorian Tamil Association Tamil School) is Melbourne’s longest-
running Tamil school, established in 1979. It is accredited by the Victorian
Government and the VRQA to conduct classes from 4-year-old Kinder through to
VCE. The school provides high-quality education delivered by experienced, fully
qualified, and well-trained teachers.
Our VCE results stand as strong evidence of the quality of our teaching. For the past
nine consecutive years, our VCE students have received the VCE High Achiever
Award from the Victorian Government.
Furthermore, our school is the only Tamil language school in Victoria that uses
structured textbooks at all levels, from Prep to VCE. This ensures consistency and
supports effective teaching and learning for both teachers and students.
We are proud to be a not-for-profit institution while maintaining the highest standards
of education. In 2025, our Glen Waverley campus produced the highest VCE Tamil
results ever achieved by any school in Australia. Twelve out of twenty-five students
(48%) scored above 40 out of 50—an exceptional achievement by the students of the
Glen Waverley campus of the VTA Tamil School.
VCE Curriculum
The school is authorised as a VCE Single Study Language(Tamil) Provider by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) and undertakes an annual accreditation process with the VCAA via Community Languages Victoria, in relation to the VCE languages curriculum and other authorisation requirements.
